A few weeks ago, I spent a Saturday evening hanging out with this adorable family to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their newest family member in just a few short weeks. This session is a testament to why I love lifestyle photography so much. I love how laid back Erin + Joe were about the chaos that taking photos with toddlers can be. They let them play and just be kids instead of trying to get everyone to sit still for the "perfect" family portrait. What resulted from the tickles and games of peek-a-boo was lots of laughter and the kinds of smiles you rarely get when you tell a little one to sit still and "say cheese." It was real life, and that is what I love documenting, in all of its messiness and chaos or complete simplicity. Real connections. That is perfect to me.
As you can see from the highlights below, Baby M is one lucky little dude to be joining a household filled with so much love + laughter.
Congratulations, Rutherford family! Can't wait to meet Baby M!
